The S&P Global US Manufacturing PMI rose to 54.5 in April 2026, marking the strongest expansion since May 2022. This was driven by a rapid increase in new orders and output growth, despite declining exports due to tariffs and Middle East conflict.

The HCOB Eurozone Manufacturing PMI, compiled by S&P Global, surveys about 3,000 private sector companies in eight countries. The PMI, a weighted average of five indices, indicates an overall increase if above 50 and decrease if below.
